Rug Star Collection
Presented for the first time in the Cloister of Santa Marta in Bergamo, this exhibition marked a turning point in contemporary carpets. Inspired by Pollock, the collection designed by Jurgen Dahlmanns has achieved international success from Sao Paulo to Dubai.

Ancient Caucasian Carpets
An iconic exhibition that allowed the public to discover the incredible textile richness of the Caucasian regions. Textures, colors and symbols tell ancient stories in every fiber.

Our History
One of the largest and most prestigious operators in the sector at a national level is undoubtedly Giancarlo Cobelli, a great connoisseur and expert, founder of the Galleria La Torre which has represented in Bergamo, since 1972, a true centre for the promotion of carpet culture.
In fact, La Torre through various initiatives, exhibitions, courses and conferences has allowed the public of enthusiasts to find an authoritative point of reference. Worthy of note are the exhibitions: Ancient Carpets of the Caucasus, Ancient Persian Carpets, Sumakh, Ancient Carpets of Anatolia, Samarkand, Tulu, China. Today Massimo and Michele Cobelli heirs of their father's passion and Jurgen Dahlmanns owner of Rug Star have given life to a real revolution in the field of contemporary carpets. Through the Gallery, Jurgen took his first steps in Italy making himself known and appreciated as a designer in the world of modern carpets.
In 2007 Michele Cobelli proposed a gamble to Dahlmanns: to design and produce an entire collection of rugs inspired by Action Painting; Jurgen wastes no time, he researches and designs inspired by Pollock. Thus was born one of the most beautiful collections of contemporary rugs exhibited up to that time. In the suggestive Cloister of Santa Marta in Bergamo, curated by Galleria La Torre, Johnny and Splash were exhibited for the first time, the collection that would later be presented in San Paolo in Brazil, in the United States and in Dubai, definitively decreeing the success and affirmation of the Rug Star brand on an international level. Rug Star with its innovative collections becomes unstoppable and opens its shops in Berlin, Zurich, Beijing and again in Augsburg as well as collaborating with numerous retailers all over the world.
While Rug Star consolidates its rise, La Torre legitimizes the modern oriental rug, enhancing the artistic plus of the designer. Step by step it becomes natural that these two realities merge and decide to give life to a great project: Rug Star Italia. The company now famous throughout the world, grown but above all recognized for the qualities of its founder, opens a grand online showcase of its collections in Italy. At the head of this project Michele and Massimo Cobelli, will promote Rug Star Italia by presenting the company concept to professionals and private individuals, in all the places where the brand will be proposed.
